AVEED® Testosterone Injections in the Central Coast of California

What is Hypogonadism?

Hypogonadism is a condition in men where there is a deficiency of testosterone, also referred to as Low “T”, the primary male sex hormone. It occurs when the testes are incapable of producing an adequate amount of testosterone, leading to decreased testosterone levels.

If you’ve been diagnosed with hypogonadism, AVEED® testosterone injections may be an option for you. Men in the central coast of California can contact the Urology Associates of the Central Coast to schedule a consultation with a board-certified urologist. Give us a call today to schedule an appointment in Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo, Templeton, Santa Maria, or Lompoc.

What is AVEED®?

AVEED® (testosterone undecanoate) injection is a prescribed medication containing testosterone, which is classified as a controlled substance (CIII). It is specifically intended for the treatment of adult males who experience low or insufficient levels of testosterone due to specific medical conditions.

Why Choose AVEED®?

In a clinical trial, 94% of men who received AVEED® injections maintained average testosterone levels within the normal range for 10 full weeks after the third injection.* 5.1% of patients had testosterone levels below normal range, and 0.9% of patients had testosterone levels above normal range.

What to Expect with AVEED®

AVEED® is an injection that is always given at the doctor’s office. AVEED® is only available through a urologist’s office, clinic, or hospital, and it is not a medicine you will give yourself at home. Your doctor will test your blood before you receive and while you are receiving AVEED®.

AVEED® Steps

1. Intinital Injection

Your doctor will inject AVEED® into the muscle of your buttock. Receiving the injection itself takes approximately 60 to 90 seconds.

2. Monitoring

Remain at the doctor’s office for 30 minutes to be sure that you are not experiencing any serious injection-related side effects.

3. Follow-up Injections

Return to the doctor’s office for regular injections. You will get an injection when you start, another injection 4 weeks later, and then an injection every 10 weeks.
