What is a Physician Assistant?
Physician Assistants (PAs) are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PAs perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel patients on preventative health measures, assist in surgery and prescribe medications.
PAs are educated in the medical model designed to complement physician training and work in a closely coordinated role with supervising physicians. Because of the similar curriculum and training experience during their schooling, PAs learn to approach health issues is a similar manner to physicians, About half of PAs work in primary care areas of medicine while the rest practice in specialty areas such as urology. The relationship between a PA and supervising physician is one of mutual trust and respect and the PA is a representative of the physician, treating the patient in a style and manner developed and directed by the supervising physician. |

Jennifer trained at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., one of the most highly rated Physician Assistant programs in the country. She graduated in 2003 with double masters degrees in physician assistant studies and public health. This rigorous program included 2 years of classroom study and one year in supervised clinical rotations with medical students from the Washington, D. C. area medical schools.
Prior to her physician assistant education, Jennifer attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She maintains and expands her medical education by attending conferences, continuing medical education lectures and reading journals with the most current urological studies. |

Jessica Turner trained at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She graduated in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. This demanding program included two years of classroom study and one year in supervised clinical rotations in Indianapolis hospitals and the surrounding area. Jessica is nationally certified as a Physician Assistant and licensed in California.
Prior to her Physician Assistant education, Jessica attended Purdue University in Indianapolis, with a focus in biology. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at Butler University. She maintains and expands her medical education by attending conferences, continuing medical education lectures, and reading journals with the most current urological studies. |

Sara Woodruff trained at Touro University in Henderson, Nevada. She graduated with honors in 2008 with a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. The intensive program included one and a half years of classroom study and one year of clinical rotations performed at various hospitals and medical offices in the Las Vegas area. Sara is nationally certified as a Physician Assistant and licensed in California.
